how it all started…

Why did i start blogging? Was it to prove a point? Or to make myself heard? Or was it to express myself? Could it be all or none of these reasons?

I really don’t know what first made me sit down on the computer and start typing the first post i ever put up on espritnoir.blogspot.com. I only knew that when I did finish typing them, i felt satisfied, at having achieved something. And then i promptly forgot about the site for at least a few months, before a friend of mine, with her blog in place, inspired me to write somthing more.

Frankly, when i started writing the blog it wasn’t meant to be for others, it was mostly meant to be for myself. A loner at heart, it was just a way for me to express what i felt or thought about something, and put it down somewhere, so that when I reread it myself, things which seemed hazy in my mind earlier, became much clearer. My blog was merely a tool, a vast drawing board, if you please, to put down my mangled thoughts and feelings, before i could juggle them around and make some sense out of those.

Somewhere along the line, a couple of friends caught on to my blog, and thought hey its not all that bad. Do write more, they said. And when i was too busy to update the blog, they messaged me asking me why the delay. Suddenly, i realised i was writing not just for myself, but for others as well. And as a good blogger friend put it, i realised that i had developed a voice, and it felt great to be heard.

And that, in a nutshell, is my blogging story.

i can’t guarantee what’s on these pages will make sense. Hell, some of these things, i’m not sure i understand. But, some posts might just make you think. About places you’ve visited, about dreams you’ve dreamt, about people you’ve loved.

If for a moment you feel comfortable here, because you know exactly what i mean, or because you’ve been through it before, drop me a line, or add a comment. You know, even for a self-professed loner, it gets awfully lonely at times. If you feel the same way, just come on over. At least, it’ll help us forget we’re alone for awhile!

Do come back again!
